Why Turmp And Israel Get Different Headlines
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Here’s the uncomfortable question this podcast keeps circling: why do some governments get nonstop moral outrage for enforcing borders or fighting wars, while others commit massive abuses and barely make the front page? We argue that coverage standards shift depending on who’s acting and whether a storyline helps or hurts certain political figures—pointing to examples like immigration enforcement, wars in the Middle East, and how Israel’s actions are framed compared with China’s treatment of Uyghurs, Turkey in Syria, or Saudi Arabia in Yemen. Context-free headlines and selective scrutiny don’t just distort policy debates—they can fuel resentment and spill into real-world harassment of Jewish communities. Here is the issue: if people believe the media applies one rule to “the right targets” and another to everyone else, trust collapses—and when trust collapses, propaganda wins.

Oh baby. And to think that it's noon somewhere today.
SPEAKER_01Oh David, David, David, David, David, David. Yeah. You know, you know, gaining notoriety day by day with one hateful comment after another is just pretty funny at this point.
Framing The Media Double Standard
Immigration Policies And Selective Outrage
SPEAKER_02You know, double standards. You know, we were sort of yakking in the green room, and you know, let me ask you a question, just a simple, honest question. What do you really think about the answer before the cable news pundits tells you what to think? Why is that when the United States under Donald Trump, uh, while Israel under BD Netanyahu, you know, they enforce its borders, something every sovereign nation on the planet does protects its citizens, uh, the media loses its collective mind. Why is it that when Israel defends itself against rockets and civilians, right? Sometimes any country would do, sometimes, you know, should do it even more, suddenly the entire Western press corps turns up but it's a human rights tribunal. But when China locks up over a million Uyghurs in a re-education, are you doing that again? Are you bringing up hypocrisy, my friend? When Turkey invades northern Syria and displaces hundreds of thousands of Kurds, uh, how about a couple of paragraphs, pages on like you know, maybe number 12 or 14? When Saudi Arabia conducts years of airstrikes in Yemen, creating one of the worst humanitarian disasters in that part of the world, that little section of the Arab world, for centuries, maybe when documentary two years later that no one even bothered to watch. Okay, you see the pattern because it is what we're saying it is. And if you think most Americans see it too, uh no, the rules are different depending on who's doing it and whether the media has the political axe to grind. You know, I you know, I'm debating whether let me start with immigration. Let's go down because it's crazy. It drives me insane. Donald Trump says we need to skew our secure our border. We do need to know who's coming into this country. You know, clearly, if they're throwing Molotov cocktail bonds created by ISIS, you know, the the position, and and by the way, Mandami, you know, communist Mandami, you know, doesn't want to go and say that they were uh, you know, uh radicalized Muslim terrorists, right? No, no, no, no. He gets called every name in the book. He's an authoritarian, he's a fascist, he's a xenophobe, dude. Name it, right? Conversely, you know, everyone else has given a pass. Meanwhile, let's make a little trip around the world. Let's go to Australia, a country where the left loves to praise for its health care and its gun laws, has one of the strictest immigration policies on the planet. They literally intercept boats of asylum seekers and send them offshore. Processing centers on the islands. They've been doing this for years under both.
SPEAKER_00Except this current government under uh Albanese loosen the lot of who can come in, who can't come in. Illegal immigration to a point, I agree with you, but look at the who and where they're attracting people from is loosey goosey, baby.
SPEAKER_02I understand. Let's let's now go to Japan.
SPEAKER_00Oh, forget Japan.
Comparing Australia, Japan, And Denmark
Israel, Terror Threats, And Media Frames
Wartime Standards And Western Interventions
SPEAKER_02Tiny little fraction of refugees that the United States does, right? The their immigration system deliberately was so restrictive. Their culture values, national cohesiveness, yeah, and their policies reflect that. Does the New York Times write an editorial about Japan xenophobia? No, uh, of course not, because nobody in America media has a political reason to go after Japan. Let's talk about Denmark. Progressive social democrat Denmark passed laws allowing seizure of valuables from refugees. They've implemented policies to disperse immigrant communities. They've set caps, they've tightened it, and they've not a peep from the international press corps spending every waking hour telling about Donald Trump's the worst thing to happen since Ellis Island closed. Right. The issue was never the policy. The issue is always the person. They decided they don't like him, they don't want him, and everyone's got to hate Donald Trump. And every policy he touches becomes a toxic association. You can hand them the exact same border security plan with a Democrat's name on it, and you would hear it's pragmatic, it's common sense reform. Put the Trump name on it, suddenly it's a crime against humanity. Now, let me now get to the next topic. Let's talk about Israel. Because this is where the double standards go from frustrating to genuinely just dangerous. Israel, as David and I have told you many times, is a country roughly the size of New Jersey. Yes, you know, we all know the housewives in New Jersey. You know, these are the Israelis in the state, the size of New Jersey, surrounded by a nation of uh non-state actors that explicitly call for the direction, done destruction. It's kind of like the New Yorkers that make fun of the uh the New Jersey people, but they don't let them across the border. But instead, they no, not only not let them across the border, they come into them and start killing them off. No, metaphorically, this is literally the Hamas charter calls for the death and obliteration of all Israel. Hezbollah's leaders said, we wished all the Jews could gather so that we could hunt them all down globally. Iran's former leader, the Ayatollah, who uh is you know resting somewhere six feet under, uh, called for the cancerous tumor to be removed. Right. Hang on a second. Bruce Springsteen's journal. I know, so I want to go there. Uh, and when Israel responds back from rockets and tunnels and terror attacks and baby murderers and rapists, uh, the massacre on October 7th, the media turns to its first instinct. Frame Israel as the aggressor every single time. No, I want to be very clear about something. Civilians dying in a conflict is a tragedy, period. Everyone says that. Nobody with a concise celebration or celebrates that. But let's apply the same standards, standards across the board. Remember, Israel leaflet bomb, pages, cell phones, publishes it, puts it in the newspaper, pretty much tells everyone on the street, get the fuck out, right? What does Iran do? What does Hezbollah do? What did Hamas do? They literally go in and bomb civilians. When the United States flattened Mosul to defeat ISIS, civilian casualties were enormous. They were the tens of thousands. Did the media demand that America be hauled before the international criminal courts? When the UK and France conducted airstrikes in Libya, yes. Remember Obama's Libya? No, there was no vote of Congress for war. An operation, by the way, that turned uh the functioning country into a failed state with an open-air slave market. Yep. Open air slave market in Libya, guys. Thanks, Obama. Thumbs up, brother. Anyways, where is the outrage? Where is the protest? Where are the college campus Soros morons? Where are the faculty letters from all of those? I'm a world saver. It's because it didn't exist. Because the media only activates its level of moral scrutiny when it comes to Israel or trouble. And you know what, David? Let's ask why. And you know what, David, I'll tell you something else. Nobody in the mainstream media wants to acknowledge the coverage itself. But by the way, the stories are framed and headlines written, the way the context deliberately strips out everything that's factual to fuel anti-Semitism. Not just any anti-Semitism, real anti-Semitism. The kind where Jewish students get harassed on campuses. Don't you remember October 8th, you assholes? The kind where synagogues need armed security, the kind where Jewish persons in Brooklyn or Paris and London have to think twice about wearing a star and dated in public. By the way, thank you, New York. I'm happy that the head law enforcement officer wore that Magam David. When you spend years telling people that one little tiny 0.02% of the fucking world, the Jewish state of Israel, is a primary villain in world affairs while ignoring and downplaying general horrific things happening by dozens of countries, you're not engaging in journalism. You're engaging in something that has much more wilder consequences. You know it's wild. The Abraham Accorps. Remember those? The most significant Middle East peace agreement ever. Brokered by who? The Trump administration. Bahrain, UAE, Sudan, Morocco, normalize all of its relations with Israel. Something for foreign policy establishments says would never happen. And you know what? The Abraham Accorps will grow under this administration yet again. And what does the media say? They bury it, they downplay it, they found reasons to be skeptical because Trump's credit for historical peace achievement doesn't fit into their box. They didn't build it for him, and they're definitely not going to give it to him. Trump, bad. Everything Trump touches, bad. Everyone who supports Trump, bad. Let me give you another example. It gets gets under my skin big. Everybody talks about Trump's relationships with so-called authoritarian leaders. Oh, he talked to Putin. He exchanged with King John. Oh, he's too friendly with Aragon. Okay, fine. Erdogan. Erdogan. I can't enunciate his name. Fine. Let's look at history. Every single American president with the leaders of countries that don't share our values. It's called diplomacy. FDR used to call Stalin. Nixon went to China. Obama pursued a deal with the Ayatollah with billions. Oh, by the way, that billions of dollars back in the hands of the world's largest state of terrorism. Yep. Fuck you, Obama. And fuck the war riding in on. And the media called the statesman. They called him courageous. Fucking jerkoff kicks the ring. Fuck you. But you know, when Trump goes to de-escalate North Korea, cozing up with a dictator, it's the same action described completely with a different language. Because the name of the president changed. Where are we now? Why does this concern me? Because it's not just unfair, it's not just unfair to Trump, not just unfair to Israel. It's the kind of bias coverage that erodes trust in free media and news media outlets. It doesn't matter if you're left or right, it destroys it. When people see a double standard, they don't see the media's approval ratings. They don't see it this way. They stopped trusting the press. And today, the press that's desperately trying to have control is being dispersed onto media. Guys like us who come out here and tell you and put our hearts on the line and the facts in front of you. As much as the crazies like to argue them, but they're the facts. When people stop trusting the press, they stop trusting all information. That's bad for everyone. It's bad for the Democrats, bad for the Republicans, bad for the liberals, bad for the conservatives, bad for the whole entire fucking country and the entire planet. A free press supports to hold everyone accountable. David, who am I gonna mention?
Anti-Semitism And Narrative Effects
Abraham Accords And Credit Denied
Diplomacy, Authoritarians, And Language
SPEAKER_00Okay, Stewart, you're gone wrong too long. All right, you need to stop. Because what you're doing is you're going on and on and on, and I love it. But let's put some point, let's put some pointers into here, people, and show you why Stuart is so right in why the media is so bloody corrupt. Let's start from the beginning here, right? Israel and United States coordinated an attack on Iran. Why? Because the Iranians in the negotiations admitted that they were able to build 11 nuclear bombs. No one wants to talk about that. Why? Because then it would legitimize the move done by Trump and the Trump and by the United States and Israel. Why is it that the United States and Israel attack military installations, infrastructure that promotes and creates these weapons? And yet when Iran and their proxies attack back, they hit the airports in Dubai, they attack Israel with cluster bombs, which by the way, just so everybody knows, it's a bomb that when it's shot at explodes into many little bombs and now creates mass damage. 120 countries have banned cluster bombs, but it doesn't make a difference. Oh, and by the way, it's civilians that they're attacking, not military installations, which Iran says they know where they are. So if you know where the military installations are, why are you going into Tel Aviv, Haifa, and by the way, Jerusalem? Where is the outrage by the Muslim community globally? That the Dome of the Rock, so-called holy place for Muslims that caused intifadas and reactions by the PLO and for jet for decades. You know how many how many of those cluster bombs and how many of uh different pieces of bombs almost hit the dome of the rock? And Israel took pains to make sure that it doesn't get hit. Who are they protecting? Oh, does it matter that some of these things fall in the Palestinian territories or in Gaza? Nope. Doesn't matter. That's your media, folks. That's what your media is serving you on the dish. And then when Donald Trump, oh, oh, Babi Natayo must be twisting Donald Trump's arm. Really? Seriously? You think that this works like that? Oh, it's the that's right. It's the Jewish conspiracy. We control the world, we control the media, we control the banks, we control everything like hell. Because if that were true, then the media people we'd be the media we'd be watching would not be so anti-Jewish, so anti-Israel. Here's something else they're not telling you, people is that unfortunately the anti-Semitism Stuart spoke about earlier has gone out of hand. That when you see caught on video, two people being pummeled physically because they were speaking Hebrew, and people stood and watched filmed it, stood and watched, and the perpetrators got away. And this is happening, Stuart, around the world. More shootings at synagogues, community centers, silence. And then it went a step further. How about the US consulate being shot at? Again, why should we do anything about this? Where is the where's the reaction? I'll tell you what the reaction is, Stuart. And follow me on this train. So the view, our dear friends of the view, are being accused of no balance in their in their report in their in the people that they bring on. Where Bill Maher will invite Republicans and Democrats alike, the view only wants Democrats. The view only wants people to say to actually just spew what they want people to hear. And when people come on that on that stage and do not do it, the women on the view go ballistic. So when the FCC went after the view, Disney said, Oh no, no, we treat the view like it's news. Okay. If that's the case, how can they get away with the following statement? Whoopi Goldberg decided I don't know where this came from that the reason Trump went on a war in Iran so that we could stop talking about Savannah Guthrie's mother. What the hell is that? Is that journalism? Is that news? Really? Whoopi Goldberg makes up stuff and if she's a news person, suspend her, get rid of her, fire her. You did it to Jamel Hill at ESPN when she went off and did her rant. You need to do the same thing, ABC and Disney. You can't let that journalism. That's not journalism. That's hate speech. That is so irre and yet, and last week, by the way, it was the Epstein files. The reason he attacked Iran is to divert from the Epstein files. Which, by the way, how many presidents had a chance to release the Epstein files, including Joe Biden, who refused to release the Epstein files, and yet they're trying to find anything about Trump to discredit Trump. You think Donald Trump was gonna release the Epstein files and discredit himself? By the way, Bill Clinton cleared Donald Trump, didn't get the news because again, can't give Trump anything. Trump derangement syndrome is off the charts. You've got a global terrorist country, a country that wants to eradicate the United States has clearly said that they want to kill Americans, they want to get rid of Christianity, they want to establish a global caliphate and install Islam in every Western society. And you think it's a joke? The media doesn't want to show this because, again, it doesn't follow their methods, their patterns. They don't want to know about this. Okay? They don't care. You know, if you really understand what's going on in the world and you care that every night in Israel, sirens are going off all night long. Israelis have to go into bomb shelters to hide because they don't know the randomness of the way Iran is firing and Hezbollah and now the Houthis, but yet you're concentrating only when Israel responds. You're not talking about the fact that Hezbollah has that the Lebanese government, Stuart, the Lebanese government has banned Hezbollah and the IRGC. They've called them terrorist organizations and they are illegal in Lebanon. Don't bother reporting that, don't bother saying that. No, they're welcome in the United States. Come move into New York. They're welcome in the UK, they're welcome wherever they want to be in Canada too. But yet, you're not gonna go down that road. The wokeness that the media has absorbed and has taken in, and the the the derangement of the left is off the charts. Look, Stuart, I'm gonna wrap it up like this. I've met quite a few people lately who've suddenly woken up and go, you know what? I'm not a Republican, I'm not a Democrat. I'm neither, because I can't stand both sides. I understand where you're coming from, and I want to be a centrist, and I want to be able to find news outlets and media that are not going to tell me how to think. I would like to be able to have my own facts, the facts for me, and make my own decisions. And I'm hearing that again and again and again from people in the United States because they cannot trust the media shoveling this kind of garbage down their throats. You know, we're why are news outlets cheerleaders for presidents? They shouldn't be, but they are. And when it was Biden in the office, we were lied to about his health, we were lied to about his capacities, we were lied to about about a whole about the pen, we were lied to about a whole bunch of things. And who pushed the narrative? The media and then social media. The media continues to do it the reverse now. They want Trump to lose in the in the November election. They're doing everything in their power to make sure that he loses by putting in front of you false information. Now you're sitting here and you're going, how could I make that allegation? You're not a journalist. I don't need to be a journalist. Stuart doesn't need to be a journalist. Look at what they're shoveling to you. If you sit and you listen and you watch the CNNs and the and the MS Nows and all that, tell me how balanced the reporting is. Same with Fox and Newsmax. Look, they're gonna want to bring the other side to the table. It's not totally balanced. I get it. But on average, take both Fox and CNN and you'll have a laugh. Same story, Stuart says, but they're gonna report it completely differently. Who are they cheering for? That's what you're gonna get your news from. But when people are when innocent people are being attacked and killed, whether it's in the United States, whether it's England, whether it's in Canada or whether it's in Israel, and the media chooses to ignore it because it doesn't push their narrative across, they're not doing their job. And the way to get that message across, Stuart, cut the cord. Cut the cord, cancel your subscription. Because the only way these corporations who own these organizations are going to learn is when ad dollars get crushed. Cut the cord, cancel your subscriptions. Surprisingly enough, the online versions of these same outlets are actually more neutral than the actual broadcasts. Okay? Surprise, surprise. But when you hear that they bring on commentators who are just gonna spew whatever the agenda is, you're not getting news, you're just getting someone's opinion. And right now, let's get real tens of thousands of Iranians were killed by the Ayatollahs, and the media did not want to tell you that. That is not journalism. When you talk about Syria, where 300,000 people were killed by Assad, and the news decided it wasn't relevant, that's not news. That's a disaster. And when the media lied to you about really what happened in Gaza, and by the way, Stuart, Hamas admitted, and I did a rant about this when you were away. Hamas admitted that 50% of the deaths were terrorists. And yet the media continues to spew the wrong number.
SPEAKER_02David, don't be surprised when millions of Americans hear anonymous sources and we roll our eyes. They build credibility for crisis, they own it. And the only way out to actually do the job is fair, honest reporting without a double standard, so that everyone can see. And David, the name I wanted to mention was Crockite. You know, because he was a left-wing guy, but he still found a way of introducing both sides. David, any last words for those crazy people that think that the world is flat.
Bias Erodes Trust In The Press
SPEAKER_00Tell you what, it just shows you what the media has accomplished. When we get the kind of comments we get lately, where people was where all people want to do is spew hate, the media's done its job then. Yeah, you've created absolutely you've given them the fodder. Rather than doing your job, you've turned society into chaos. Thank you so much for that. Stuart, let's get out of here.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I wish I could, but I screwed something up.
SPEAKER_00All right, ladies and gentlemen. Have yourself a great hump day and we wish you well. Let's see you on Friday. Okay, let's say goodbye. See you later.
