“When your prime minister treats Parliament like a boardroom and taxpayers like shareholders, democracy stops being democratic.” This episode of The Rant Network tears into Mark Carney’s leadership and the unraveling of Canada’s Liberal government — from missed question periods and jet‑set diplomacy to inflation spikes and foreign aid controversies. David exposes how Carney’s CEO‑style governance, European obsession, and tone‑deaf spending have alienated Canadians struggling with rising costs and eroding trust. From billion‑dollar flights to millions sent abroad while food banks overflow, this rant asks the question every voter should be shouting: how many more excuses will Canadians accept before calling it what it is — political arrogance disguised as leadership?

Music, Setup, And Rant Day

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's the music that I like to play. Stuart's not here. Epic sound movie-like kind of theme. When we're talking about one of those deep, difficult conversations topics today, ladies and gentlemen, exactly what I'm gonna be doing here in Canada with Stuart is away, and it is Saint-Jean Batist in Quebec here. And it doesn't matter, it's a Wednesday, it's a rant day. I'm David Solomon, and I do this every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, noon, Eastern with Stuart Risgell, who's away this today. But I get to take a chance and talk about Canada when Stuart's not here. Because you know, as you know, the Americans like to, when they look at Canada, especially some of the networks, it's either the pity party that the liberal media likes to do with Canada because of what Trump has done, versus the conservative, more leading media, which is like, let's wake up. Mark Kearney, the prime minister of Canada, has proven to be the worst prime minister we've seen in God knows how long. And yeah, you could say that this is just more conservative banter, and you could say, well, come on, guys, once again, you're attacking the liberals. Don't you have anything better to do? I wish. Honestly, I truly

Media Narratives And Carney’s Reputation

SPEAKER_00

wish. And I'll give you an example of what I'm talking about, why there's just this, you know, even the liberal media in Canada is starting to scratch their head going, what's the deal with with Kearney? Like, what's his story? Because after a year and a bit of being in power, Mr. Kearney's gained a kind of a reputation of being a bit of a bastard. People don't really like him very much. And even his own MPs are wondering, you know, what's the story here? The liberal MPs are are just like you can't imagine what question period is like here in Canada. Now, many of you are are in Americans, and you're saying, so wait a second, what are you talking

How Question Period Works

SPEAKER_00

about? So, just for those of you who are not Canadian and aren't familiar with what we do here, we don't have Congress and we don't have Senate like you guys do. It's the House of Commons. The Prime Minister, their cabinet, their MPs, and the opposition parties attend question period to answer the questions that regular Canadians have for from the opposition to the to the governing party, and also for the governing party to make announcements. Also a place for them to have legislation and et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Carney’s Low Attendance Numbers

SPEAKER_00

But it's interesting to note that when it comes up to Mark Carney and attending question period, it's beneath him. It's beneath him. Stephen Harper attended 65% of question periods when it happened when he was prime minister and got a grief that hey, why don't you show up for more? And got grief. That went on to Justin Trudeau, who only attended 41.5%. People were scratching their head, going, why not? Well, there's a reason. But and we thought Trudeau was at an all-time low. I mean, you're talking about two-thirds of the time that Stephen Harper attended question period. But lo and behold, Prime Minister Mark Carney has missed in his first 123 question periods in this parliament. He's only attended 26.8% of the time. Excuse me, I have to look at my numbers. That's right, almost one in four. Now, many have covered up for him and said, you gotta understand, Mr. Kearney has to travel on behalf of Canadians because Donald Trump, his favorite excuse, is the problem. He has to go find new trade deals, he's got to create alliances, he's got to do all these things. And yet, his responsibility is in Canada. He has a series of incompetent members of parliament, and especially ministers, who are answering, using looking in their binder for their talking pieces, and they've been coming out many times like gobbledygook. Smoke and mirror moves, on and on and on and on. Finally, even the CBC, the in the you know, the the the media being bought out by Carney, and that's what it should be called, BC bought by Carney. Canadians are getting finally hearing some some of even some journalists, some some commentators going, forget where's Waldo, it's where's Mark Carney when it comes to question period. This is just one part of the problem.

Europe Pivot And EU Talk

SPEAKER_00

So let's let's let's analyze, if you may, what Mark Carney does when he travels. Because he seems to have this love affair with Europe. And here is a guy who rebelled, got angered, pissed, because the United States said Canada should be the 51st state. Well, that was a Donald Trump remark, so obviously it has to be bad. And I get the connotation and I get the shot across the bow. But why aren't we reacting when Mark Kearney said we should join the European Union? We are more we're European more than anything else. No, we're not. That is the biggest bunch of garbage. Mark Kearney might have a love affair with the the former prime minister of of England, Keir Starmer, and he must love Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Sanchez from Spain, and all these left-leading loonies that he just spent a couple of days with at the G7. That's right. Lefties, he loves his socialists, he loves those governments that are anti-Trump. He loves those people who are giving him ideas on how to you know how to fight the Trump factor. And lo and behold, no one's reacted to the fact that he believes that we should be joining, we should be Europe and not United States. How does that make any sense when our economy is so damn tied to the United States? But it's political for him. It's a personal attack on Kearney. And while he's quiet about it and does his thing, look what Kearney does. He just goes out there and tries to tie us even further to Europe to get away from capitalism, to get away from what makes what Canada really needs. Talking from both ends of his mouth. Now imagine Donald Trump getting caught up on a hot mic, saying, hey, who needs you know Congress? They're worthless. Congress is only good for voting for whatever I want. Imagine if carried if imagine if Donald Trump had said something like that. And I don't, I'm not trying to imitate Donald Trump, I promise you. The media would have gone nuts, as they usually do. Because whatever Trump says is usually fodder for making noise. It it feels the CNNs, the MS nows, and all that, and the CBCs of all this stuff. It's it's airtime for them. It's perfect. Give them a chance for their for the haters to go out and hate. Why am I bringing that up?

Hot Mic And CEO Style Politics

SPEAKER_00

Because Mark Carney was in Croatia and was caught on a hot mic saying that members of parliament are only good for votes. Just like a good CEO does in his organization, that his board is only good for votes. He runs the strategy, he runs the ship, not his members of parliament. And no reaction, not a response, not even a head scratcher. What is going on? And we're giving Mark Kearney another pass. We were promised big change from Mark uh from Justin Trudeau, and we are getting change in the wrong direction.

Inflation And Rising Food Prices

SPEAKER_00

I mean, how much more can we give Mark Kearney a pass? How many more mulligans do we give this guy? The latest statistics show that inflation went up 3.2%, up from 2.8. Now, let's get real. I understand gas is in there. And a lot of people are gonna go, David, did you see enough to pump up the price of gas? It was over two bucks during the war. We gotta blame Iran, we gotta blame the Straits of Hormuz closing, we gotta blame Trump. And that's exactly what Mark Kearney's made you believe. That everything that can go wrong in Canada has nothing to do with Canadians. It's all about what goes on out there, and that's why we need to tie ourselves with Europe, because we'll get a better chance with Europe. That's a whole other craziness that you can imagine. But let's go through the numbers, shall we? Let's strip out gas out of that. If you take out gas, inflation's up 2.2%. In the month of May alone, when you need your inflation to be no better than 2%, we are 2.2. Your food prices went up 3.8%. You know, did you notice in your pay your checks? Did you notice how much going to Costco or going to the grocery store cost to more Walmart, wherever you go shopping? You know what? You didn't notice that your that veggies was up 9%, fresh fruit was up 5.3%, tomatoes were 45%, grapes 23%, beef 13.3%. Did anybody pay attention to the prices? But I know Mark Carney's made you believe that it's all about Trump and the war. When yeah, a lot of that is in there, but that's not why. Our cost of living has gone up ridiculously, thanks to the lack of Kearney policies.

Housing Promises And Falling Starts

SPEAKER_00

How do you explain that Mark Carney ran on the whole idea of making it easier to build homes in Canada? And yet he promised half a million new homes easily. Just go, go, go. But we didn't even get to halfway there. We were supposed to be here by now, but we're not. Housing starts are down 18%, permits are down eight percent, and housing prices continue to climb in Vancouver and Toronto and other parts of Canada. And again, that's just blame Trump. It's just too easy, it's just simple enough to blame Trump.

unknown

Mr.

SPEAKER_00

Kearney, of what I did my last rant, I talked about how he, you know, he took democracy over by creating this floor-crossing scenario. And you know, he now he can run the the you know, run the roost, no problem. They'll vote for him, no problem. Despite the fact that some of his MPs are allegedly leaving and they don't want to be there anymore. Because the real Mark Kearney apparently is a yeller in you know, in in cabinet meetings, he's a CEO driving the there's no democracy. He's running a business, and as long as his business improves, like, oh wait, no, not the Canadian business, but Brookfield business improves, all is good. Go figure.

Crime Policy And Maximum Security Debate

SPEAKER_00

You want to explain to me this whole idea of releasing you know prisoners from maximum security prisons. Paul Bernardo, when I was younger, was the criminal, one of the most dangerous criminals, and was put away in a maximum sentence prison. And the liberals wanted to release him and others, because that's what we do as good Canadians. We don't take the worst of the worst of society, and we we just anybody who's a dangerous offender and convicted of more than one first degree murder is being let go because the liberals voted against Bill C232, a bill that would have kept people like Paul Bernardo behind bars, and yet nothing, no reaction, it was okay. The media let it go as usual because Mark Kearney has made sure that the media doesn't position him badly. Don't make it look too obvious, as we've seen in some, as I said, some CBC reporting. But this is crazy. Paul Bernardo, Mark Smith, Darren, Dylan Millard, Luca Magnota were returned to serve the sentence and maximum security sentences where they belong. And Mark Kearney and his liberals voted against keeping them in jail and others like him. Make sense to you that the criminals are going back on the streets? Does anybody really care? But you see, Mark Kearney's not here enough to notice that this is important to Canadians because he's just been spending a million dollars on his private jet flying around going to country.

Government Spending And Private Jet Costs

SPEAKER_00

Canadians are in are going to food banks in greater amounts all the time. Our infrastructure is crumbling, Canadians are struggling, and Mark Kearney is you know running up a tab in three flights alone, $195,000 to Europe. I mean, Kearney has spent, according to statistics, $962,633 on in-flight meals alone. What could we have done with that million dollars? What does Mark Kearney do? He says, Oh, look what we've done. We eliminated, aren't we great? We eliminated temporarily the fuel tax. I sent you more money to your pay your homes, the GSD refunds. Look how great I am. When we are at a position at home where budgets are tight, we cut. We make cuts. We don't want to take on a bigger line of credit. We don't want to take on more debt. We cut except for the government, except for Mark Kearney, because he needs to keep flying around to make him and Brookfield and whatever he feels like it much better. It's unbelievable what this guy is doing, even from a public affairs thing.

Foreign Aid Claims And Israel Gaza Politics

SPEAKER_00

Now, speaking of spending your money, ladies and gentlemen, our tax money was supposed to go to help Canadians. But instead, Anita Nend and the liberals have decided that the money is better spent elsewhere, including sent allegedly $200 million to Gaza. That's right. Back to Hamas. Anita and her Hamas wing of the Liberal Party have once again showed that they really don't care about Israel. They care about destroying her. And that's their foreign policy, sending $200 million of your money that we need in Canada. We have 40 million Canadians, and so many people are struggling and we're sending money to Gaza. That's right. The hands of the terrorists. So they can buy more weapons, more concrete, and they can build more tunnels. That's it. Not to feed starving Palestinians, not to help them rebuild their infrastructure. Oh no, this was about handing the money back to the terrorists. That they continue to attack Israel, that they continue to attack its its right to defend herself. No, you see, Mark Kearney kept the Trudeau haters around him to ensure that he gets the votes. Remember what he said in Croatia. The MPs are there for the votes. So if Anita Anan, who claims to be a caring individual, who doesn't care what she's done to Jewish Canadians, she doesn't care what it means to Israel, she doesn't care what she's done to Canada security. Because if you ask the folks at the CIA, if you ask the folks at CSIS, Israel's been sending incredible amount of information, security-related information, to these security government bodies to help protect Canadians. And yet, and Ian Nan's response to that is that's good. We're going to support your haters, your enemies. Not once has this government stood up for with Israel, not like Stephen Harper did back then when he was prime minister. Of course it's not popular. We know it's not popular, but it's the right thing to do. It's humanity at its best. And I don't care what you haters are type in here later on with your AI bots and your soros-funded attacks at us. It's humanity. Mark Kearney supported Iran at the United Nations. Mark Carney and his government continues to be the enemy of the Canadian people. And yet we continue to make excuses for him. The government is going to need to do whatever it wants unopposed. And that is thanks to the liberal media, who won't attack a person like Mark Carney the way they attacked Stephen Harper during his term as prime as prime minister. Folks, your money, your money, your hard-earned tax money that you need in your pockets to pay for food, look where they're going.

USMCA Pressure And China EV Imports

SPEAKER_00

So what are you doing about the United States? Sweet bugger all. The USMCA will be reopened very soon. And Donald Trump's already made his usual remarks that were not unexpected, that Kuzma is or USMCA is not needed, and we could do whatever we want. And if you know how Trump works, that's the way it is. There's a lot of bluster and a lot of noise, but he's getting a lot of pressure in the United States to keep that free trade agreement open. Actually, I shouldn't say free trade, it's a trade agreement because there's no a lot of not a lot of free in there. But you know what he's going to try to do, Trump, is break the dairy farmers of Canada. But that's a voting block that Carney can't afford to lose. So he'd rather throw the auto industry like he did under the bus, run to China, where instead of building factories in Canada, they're importing 50,000 cars. That's okay. EV's coming from China, that's okay. We don't care about the Ontario auto sector that needs employment, that's closing down factories because of what Trump has done. And that Kearney has refused to go negotiate. That's okay. That's all right. Because Carney is a liberal, because Carney is one of the good guys. Because you wouldn't dare vote for there's a wave down in Latin and South America where people are going away from the left to the right because they're fed up of what they have seen. You see this in Europe. And Mark Carney is fully aware that if he doesn't protect his assets, he's done for in 2029. His party will lose seats in Canada. He will lose his very razor-thin majority if they continue to do this stupid shit. But that's what it

Final Warning And Sign Off

SPEAKER_00

is. And with that, ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna wrap it up. This is what you gotta remember be careful of carning the liberals because if you don't, we're sunk. That's it for the Rant Network for today. Have yourself a wonderful, wonderful day. We love you guys. We'll see you here on Friday. Cheers.
