Welcome back to the Rant Network. David Column here flying solo today. America's 250th birthday coming up this weekend. Big parties, big celebrations, and of course a lot of criticism. And as we've been talking about here in the Rentneck for the last little bit, the changing landscape of the United States and the whole business, socialists continue their rampant takeover of the United States, as we're seeing that in a whole bunch of primaries across the U.S. But one, you know, when people say, oh, socialism is better for us, the left, they know better. They hold higher moral ground because they talk about these great topics.

And the one topic that they continue to complain about that has been taken off the table, blaming Trump and the right, of course, is climate change. Now we're not taking climate change seriously. And the socialists, especially Zoran Mamdani in New York, when he was campaigning, he was talking about, hey, guess what? Where is all the green policies? And if you talk to the Democratic Party, they want to bring it back because all of their policies worked, right? I mean, they made big changes in the United States, right? Fantastic opportunities because we're much more efficient. Even in Canada, we're so much more efficient right now. Europe, way more efficient with all the green policies that the socialists promised. But they need to blame. And who do they blame is the United States. But I'll get to that in just a

Heat Waves And Air Conditioning Reality

second. If you're sitting right now in good parts of Canada and other parts of the United States, you're the heat outside is off the charts. It's brutally hot. It is so hot. The temperature, you know, reaching well over 100 degrees. It was like almost 110 in some parts of northeastern United States yesterday. It was over 40 degrees Celsius with the humidity in parts of Quebec and Ontario. It's hot. But you know what? We have air conditioning. In a lot of parts of Canada, the United States, we're fortunate enough to have air conditioning. Now, when I grew up as a kid, it was real central air, just it was, it was it was rare. It was almost non-existent. We had even in school, when it came to the end of the school year, if we were lucky, we had those air conditioners that you've installed in the windows. And at home, we were lucky enough to have, you know, one of them upstairs and one of them in my parents' room. And you know, and and and and and but it was sweltering. The option for me at the time, I was lucky enough we had a basement and I slept in the basement, and it was great. It was cool, and it was actually almost sometimes too cold in some days in the summer. But on days when it was this hot, my bedroom was the most popular room in the house. And you imagine going to work and imagine going to school and imagine all these things in this sweltering heat. And the climate people will tell you that, yeah, but those were rare days. And we survived and we were fine. But we've ruined the climate here. We've ruined the climate. And we've told people, you know, with this central air business now, where houses are being built and every room is cool, and you can keep it at a in a nice, comfortable 72 Fahrenheit, 21 Celsius, whatever you prefer. But apparently that's not good. According to the climate people, we're ruining the environment with it. That it's actually worse than aviation. I find that interesting, very, very interesting. Those are the some of the studies that you know that come out. Now, again, I'm not researching who commissioned these studies, because often what do we find with these studies are people who have, of course, an agenda behind this. Uh, they're not totally third party, they're totally neutral, and the media is gonna tell you, oh, guess what? Studies showed that. Of course, that they're studies, you just don't tell me who commissioned the study. Is it the left? Is it an environmental agency that's looking to push an agenda, you know, past Congress, here in Canada, in Europe, or is it real? read these sources. But here's the crazy thing that the socialists want to convince you air conditioning is bad and you should all suffer. And Zoran Mamdani is one of those geniuses who, you know, he told people in New York, don't use your air conditioning. In fact, don't even leave your house at 72, leave your house at at least 78 degrees. Now, when you do that, your house is never, or your apartment is never at really that number. It always fluctuates up, down. And with the sweltering heat, it's brutal. So, what does Momdani tell everybody? Is oh, by the way, if you have an older loved one, a friend, or neighbor, check in with them today. Make sure that they're staying hydrated, spending time in the air conditioned space wherever possible, and know where to find the nearest cooling center. Wait a minute. This is your reaction after you told people that you should, old people, seniors, that they should suffer. That, you know, for the better of New York, old people should not have air conditioning, that they shouldn't be in cool degrees, that they should be they're the greatest risk of heat-related illnesses. And you've just told them set your air conditioner to 78 degrees. I'm just flabbergasted because the notion is that air conditioning is bad for the environment, and the environment matters more than keeping people healthy and safe. longest time. Now, if you think that this is crazy, let me take you to the other side of the Atlantic. Because you see, France is blaming the United States for the sweltering heat that's impacted Europe. It's been brutal. If you are know people who've traveled to Europe or you've been to Europe, the temperatures have been unbelievable. It's super hot out there as well. Many days of this kind of heat, unbelievable records are being smashed during this time frame. And we've seen this over the last few years, these 40 degrees Celsius plus days, over 100 degree Fahrenheit days. And if you go to France, only one in four homes has an air conditioner. That's right, only one in four. Because you see, your France doesn't like it. The left doesn't want you to have these air conditioners. Now, they're gonna tell you that France, among many of these buildings, have been built, you know, they're old buildings. They they they do you you can't modernize them in order to put in the proper air conditioning. And there's a massive battle between guess who? The right and the left. Now, I'm not a big fan of Marine Le Pen, who's the the leader of the right party. She has some other ideas that I'm not in favor of. But what she said is if I'm elected president, I'll put in a massive air conditioning plan. That's her uh that was her idea. To it's to save French people, it's to put in in such a way that the heat waves would not impact Europeans, not impact French people. In fact, if you would actually be shocked to know that 200,000 people have been killed in the last four years simply because of the heat waves. Simply because of the heat wave problems. But yet, Paris Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire, of course, a lefty, says individual air conditioning is a scourge and calls for flexibility and solutions like better insulation to deal with high temperatures. His deputy mayor, Audrey Boulevard, issued a statement in response to American journalists and social media personnel when she called out the US for its widespread use

She said, as the second largest emitter of greenhouse emissions in the world, you bear a significant amount of responsibility for global warming and the consequences we in France are experiencing. Your cities are 90% air conditioned, not unrelated to this. In Paris, we take responsibility. Oh, there it is, ladies and gentlemen. The high horse. The high horse. That's right. The belief that they're that their lefty policies are absolutely correct. The latest heat wave in June. Let me remind you, according to the studies here, according to stud sites, according to the news, hit 108 degrees in France, 113 in Spain. Records reach over 100 degrees in Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. In France, more than a thousand excess deaths were recorded during the heat spell. And more than 70 people have drowned because they took the rivers and waterways for relief. But yet, it's more important. We have to save the environment. We have to deal with climate change. You know, it's it's it's interesting because studies have showed that air conditioning actually have reduced risk, heat-related risk of uh of any deaths by up to 75%. The technology has saved approximately 190,000 lives, according to the International Energy Agency. Yes, I'm citing a source on this one. Now, the problem is it is that the

people will tell you again that these air conditioners are gonna, you know, they think they contribute to the climate change, and and the and the left doesn't want anything bad to do with climate change. Basically, ladies and gentlemen, you have to suffer, but they don't have a solution. To complain about the United States about greenhouse gas emissions and on air conditioning, I find absolutely ridiculous. Because here's the reality of it, folks. Talk to me about cars, talk to me about industry, talk to me about all these things, and you're telling me that it's the air conditioning that is gonna ruin our environment. Okay, I don't get it. Do you ask? Do you ask the you know, if the government absolutely does represent the people, and the people are wanting more and more of air conditioning, and we're seeing more and more of that in Europe, then why aren't we listening to the people? Because the left says they know better. The socialists there will tell you we're here to save the globe. Meanwhile, how are they living? You think they don't have air conditioning? Of course they do. You don't think Mamdani is sleeping very comfortably in 72 degrees or whatever the temperature he wants in his residence and with him and his wife? Of course they are. You don't think that the government that the that the government officials aren't living in in comfort? Of course they are. They're spending money, your money, on programs and silliness that off the charts. And yet they're telling you, the consumer, the voter, suffer because we're trying to save the globe. They fly around the world, no problem. They spend money on lavish meals on this trade travel, as I talked about in a previous rant with just with Mark Kearney alone. They go out and they spend money on programs, woke programs in God knows what other countries, as we found in Doge. How many of these silly programs? But they're telling you to suffer.

A Practical Path Forward On Cooling

we should be looking at better technology. True, we should be looking at more programs. If the government actually did something, instead of pretending you're there to help us, why don't you come up with programs to help homes? If if if in fact it is better insulation, then why don't we put a program together to help people to better insulate their homes? If there's a better technology out there than air conditioning, let's fund it, let's go research it, let's go do this. No Marine Tondolier, the head of the French Francis Green Party of all people, saying she was breaking a taboo. Yeah, she said air conditioning is a necessity to save lives. We just have to, she said there are places we just can't do without it now. For once, a socialist who actually is saying, you know what? We gotta balance people's lives and society. This is just one example of what I'm talking about where socialists just don't seem to get it. They really, really don't get it. Yeah, sure. We need to plant more trees, we need to spend more on rebuilding our environment. I will highly grant that now populations are growing and there are many vulnerable out there. And we need to, you know, we need to do something to help people. But to just sit there and to tell everybody, suffer for the sake of the environment is just one of those ideologies that just don't make sense. If the socialists truly do care about you, then come up with a plan that makes sense. Stop making the people suffer. Stop making the people be your bitch when it comes up to your policies. Don't put money in people's pockets and say, look, we give you money back because you know grocery bills are higher. You know, whoops, you know, here's $200 a quarter. Knock yourself out because that's gonna do a fucking hell of a lot. Socialists don't have a plan. That's the problem. And this air conditioning thing is just one example of no plan. It's just guess what? Just listen to us. We know better. You suffer, we enjoy ourselves, and in the meantime, you depend on us, we'll stay on power.
